The Dominican Republic comprises 2/3 of the island of Hispaniola, 2 hours air flight from the Southeast of Miami, Florida, West of Cuba and Jamaica. Island was discovered by Christopher Columbus, whom called it ‘The Indies’ and who described it as: ‘the most beautiful paradise man has even seen’. The Dominican Republic is truly a paradisiacal island, with high mountains full of vegetation, large valleys and rivers that run free! On the XVI Century, Spaniard ships were harbored on the coasts of the Dominican Republic, to rest and replenish, before continuing to the Americas and the colonies, which attracted the originals pirates of the Caribbean Sea. Their story as is a seasoning mixture of Spaniard, French, Haitians and Africans influences, all which created an unique and friendly culture that is now-a-days what attracts visitors and tourists. Punta Cana region was only recently developed. Located in the Atlantic Coast, at the extreme West of the Dominican Republic, it is a touristic area with an impressive high development index. Recently democratically government has created a series of laws and incentives in order to stimulate a high quality and controlled development of the land on the East. Various governmental officials, recognized businesspersons, and celebrities have chosen Punta Cana to reside or to enjoy their vacation time. The warm sunny tropical climate is a constant pleasure, with its average temperature of 28° centigrade in the Summer, and of 17° in the Winter, while seasoned with warm sea breezes, fanned by the ever abundant coconut trees, and the breathtaking beauty of the aquamarine blue ocean and white sand beaches.
